An enjoyable weekend

We'd started off the weekend with no direct plans, but over a lazy Saturday breakfast we decided to head out to Masters (Home Improvement, link here), to pick up some seeds and things for our soon to be veggie patch!
Jack enjoying the jumping castle!
Upon arrival there seemed to be a car show going on, and once heading inside there were kids activities everywhere. This was certainly out of the ordinary, however, we soon found out it was Masters first birthday!

We got to have a go at painting gnomes, making masks, decorating pots and best of all going on the jumping castle! There was also a sausage sizzle and a firetruck. All the right things for a very entertaining morning!

After all the fun it was time to get back to the shopping. We carefully chose out some carrot, tomato, zucchini, watermelon, corn and cucumber seeds as well as a lime, an orange and two lemon trees.

It's still the middle of winter here, so we are a while off planting, but now we're organised. Gotta love that feeling!

Ben also spent about 30 minutes choosing some grass seeds. Personally I thought this was a bit silly, but apparently you can never be too careful when deciding on these things.
Sneaky photos in the pram

By this stage Harry was fast asleep and Jack was getting a bit restless so after many 'Choo Choo's' from Jack I gave him my iPhone to play a train game.
The cheeky boy took some very nice photos of his feet instead.

This was really our only exciting adventure this weekend as by lunch time on Saturday it was raining and didn't stop until night time on Sunday. So the rest was spent playing inside, cleaning the house, doing laundry and best of all working on some of my WIP (work in progress) crochet projects.

Hopefully I'll get some things finished soon. My 'To Do' list always seems to be bigger than my spare time.

No crochet :(

Well the good news is that my little Harry Man is doing much better. Still no idea what was wrong with him but now it's nearly all gone, only a runny nose as proof of his misery. Unfortunately I managed to get myself sick in the meantime. But never fear, this mumma kept going. Only partially though, sadly the house and crocheting were neglected so no new hats to show.

I have received a new order however, and went to the mall to buy some more yarn and catch up with a friend.

The kids had a great time and it was good to get out of the house.

Now to start on my new order and hopefully have it finished by Thursday :)

A very busy day!

Today started off much the same as any other. Ben (my partner) getting up for work and the boys and I sneaking back in to bed for an early morning snuggle before starting our day. On a cold winters day is there really anything better? Soon it was breakfast, and then showers, followed by prep for our big day ahead.

Once upon a time it took me two hours to get ready. This included a long shower, doing my make-up and carefully selecting an outfit. Fast forward to now and it still takes me two hours. The difference is I'm having a five minute shower (on a good day), I throw on the cleanest clothes I can find and my face hasn't seen the sight of make-up since what feels like the dawn of time.

We jumped in the car to meet up with some friends for a coffee before heading to playgroup.

Enjoying fruit with friends at playgroup!
This in itself would be a big day for the kidlets and I, however things took a turn for the worse. By the end of playgroup Harry Monster was warming up, his nose was running and he looked miserable. We headed home dropping into the chemist on our way. By the time we were home and I was able to take his temperature he was already a massive 39.8 C (103.7 F). Harry and I headed off to the hospital leaving Hack at home with Ben.

Unfortunately our trip was very inconclusive, but his tempreture was dropping so we were able to come home. Thankfully Little Man is now sound asleep in his bed, and after all the poking and prodding he certainly deserves it!

I'm sure we have a tough night ahead, but for now all is well.

New embellishments have now been added to Facebook for those that are interested. Link can be found here.

My first order

Yesterday the kidlets both had colds and needless to say it was rather full on. Whoever said that it was easy being a Stay At Home Mum clearly never had their own children. I'd have one child set up with a healthy snack or drink, breast-feeding the other and suddenly the cat would want to be let in. I'd have them both asleep, finally able to get started on my never ending list of chores and suddenly the delivery guy was pressing the doorbell. It honestly never ends. But at least I get to do it in my pajamas.

After my very busy day of runny noses I was able to settle in bed, watch a bit of TV and finish crocheting my first order. It was originally placed at the end of last week so it was before I 'officially' decided to go along on this adventure, but it definitely still counts!

The order was for 3 toddler sized hats with any colour/embellishment of my choice. Two were just copies of what I have done previously, a basic hat with bows added (if you'd like to have a look all designs can be found here). However, I didn't want all three to be the same so I made a basic turquoise hat and added a white rose. Definitely a new favourite!

Not quite true to colour, but you get the idea

I'm handing them over to there new owner tomorrow to be used as gifts this weekend. I've been promised a photo, so I'm rather excited!

While I still have a few minutes to myself I might quickly jump in the shower and figure out something for dinner. Certainly no better time for thinking than during a nice hot relaxing shower. If only I had time for the relaxing part, sigh.

The very beginning

Today I am officially starting my at home business of crocheting and selling items through Facebook (link here), and I couldn't be more excited.

I'm a stay-at-home mum of two beautiful boys.

Jack (2 years) my snuggle pot!
Harry (4 months) my chubby bubby!
I started crocheting many years ago when encouraged by my grandmother to never have idle hands. I got as far as making a granny square blanket, about the size of a double bed, and than decided I'd had enough. I did however, continue my crafting journey through knitting, sewing and embroidery. Fast forward to being pregnant with Harry and I found my impatience of the pregnancy growing rapidly and decided once again it was time to pick up my hook.

I started off with a basic rainbow single crocheted baby blanket. It really doesn't get any easier than that. It took me around 8 weeks with a few rows every day and with much procrastination it took me a further 2 weeks to weave in the 30 or so loose threads. I have since found my passion in making beanies, but I do occasionally venture out into other items.

My goal is to enjoy my hobby while making some money on the side for a few adventures for the kidlets and I. I hope you enjoy our journey.
